Original recipe card for Nougat

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Karo white corn syrup
  • 2 Egg Whites

Instructions

  1. Beat the whites of two eggs to a stiff froth.
  2. Boil the syrup until it threads.
  3. Pour 1/2 of the syrup over the eggs, beating constantly.
  4. The other half boil until it forms a hard ball and place in cold water.
  5. Then add to the eggs, beat as one would fudge.
  6. Add nuts and pour on buttered tin.
