Original recipe card for Cream Taffy

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 Pounds Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Cup Vinegar
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1/2 Cup Molasses
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cream of Tartar
  • 2 Ounces Butter
  • Pinch Soda

Instructions

  1. Mix the sugar, vinegar, water and molasses together, bring to boiling point and add the cream of tartar.
  2. Stir constantly while boiling.
  3. When it forms a ball in cold water, add the butter and a pinch of soda.
  4. Pour on buttered plates, and when cool pull until white.
