Original recipe card for Pop-Corn Balls

Ingredients

  • 1 Pint Molasses
  • 6 Quarts Popped Corn
  • 1 Cup Nuts

Instructions

  1. Pop as much corn as desired, carefully removing all hard grains.
  2. To each six quarts of popped corn, allow one pint of molasses and one cup of shelled nuts.
  3. Boil the molasses until it forms a soft ball when dropped in cold water.
  4. Have the popcorn and nuts in a large bowl.
  5. Pour boiling syrup over them, tossing with a spoon to mix them thoroughly.
  6. When cool enough to handle, shape in firm balls.
  7. The nuts may be omitted if desired, as popped corn alone treated in this way makes delicious balls.
