Original recipe card for Maple Sugar Waffles

Ingredients

  • Four Eggs
  • 1 pint Milk
  • 1 cup Shaved Maple Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • To make a stiff batter Flour

Instructions

  1. To the beaten yolks of the four eggs, add salt, the milk, the maple sugar and enough flour to make a rather stiff batter.
  2. Beat until smooth; then add gradually, the stiffly beaten whites of the eggs.
  3. The batter should then be thin enough to pour readily.
  4. Have the waffle irons hot and well greased.
  5. Butter the waffles and serve piping hot.
