Original recipe card for Wheat Cakes

Ingredients

  • 1 quart Flour
  • 3 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • To mix Milk

Instructions

  1. Sift dry ingredients together, add sweet milk to mix into a soft batter.
  2. Bake immediately on hot griddle.
  3. Should be full 1/8 inch thick when baked.
  4. Smother with butter and maple syrup or honey.

Notes

This is the best plain hot griddle cake without eggs. The cakes will be light, tender and healthful.
