Original recipe card for Turkish Black Coffee

Ingredients

  • 2 lumps Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Powdered Coffee

Instructions

  1. Put the coffee on in a Turkish coffee pot. It can be found in any of the furniture stores.
  2. Put on the fire with freshly boiled water and the sugar.
  3. Add the coffee powder to the water; it is just enough for two after-dinner cups; stir well, let the pot boil up 4 times.
  4. Between each boil, the pot is removed from the stove and tapped gently on the bottom until froth appears.
  5. Return to the fire, until it boils again.
  6. After the last boiling, pour off the coffee from the sediment, first into 1 cup and then into another, dividing the froth equally.
  7. Serve at once.
