Original recipe card for Stuffed Tomatoes

Ingredients

  • large Tomatoes
  • see recipe No. 655 Stuffing

Instructions

  1. Choose large tomatoes, remove stem end and take out centers.
  2. Fill with stuffing, lay on buttered baking pan and bake in a hot oven 30 minutes.

Notes

Peppers, summer squash, large ripe cucumbers, onions and eggplant may be prepared in the same way. Bread crumbs may be substituted for the potato filling. They should be seasoned with a little chopped onion, pepper and salt.
