Original Recipe Card

Ingredients
- 9 Large Sweet Potatoes
- 1/2 Lb. Beef Fat
- 2 Cupfuls Brown Sugar
- 1/3 Lemon, Sliced Thin
- 2 Cupfuls Cold Water
Instructions
- Peel and cut up the sweet potatoes and put them into a pot with the beef fat.
- Add the cold water, brown sugar and sliced lemon.
- Cook over a very slow fire for three hours.
- The syrup should be very thick and the potatoes soft and brown.
