Original Recipe Card

Ingredients
- 1 cake Yeast
- 2 cupfuls Warm Water
- 2 cups Melted Lard
- 1/3 cup Sugar
- Two Eggs
- 1 teaspoonful Salt
- To mix Flour
Instructions
- Soak one cake compressed yeast in a little warm water.
- Mix warm water, lard, sugar, eggs, salt; add yeast and flour sufficient for stiff dough.
- Let it rise.
- When light, pinch off and put in muffin pans to rise again.
- Then after they are light, the second time, place in a cold oven, turn on gas, and bake in moderate oven for 25 minutes.
Notes
These muffins may be made up and kept for a week, the dough pinched off and baked at any time, as they are delicious for any meal.
