Original recipe card for Stewed Oyster Plant

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch Oyster Plant
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 pint Milk
  • To season Salt

Instructions

  1. Scrape and wash the plant, cut in small cubes and cook gently in unsalted water until tender.
  2. Drain and add the milk, salt and butter.
  3. Reheat and serve with croutons, recipe No. 543.
  4. If a thick sauce is liked recipe No. 591 may be used when the plant is cooked tender.
