Original recipe card for Sponge Lady Fingers

Ingredients

  • three Eggs
  • 1/3 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 3/4 cup Flour
  • a pinch Salt

Instructions

  1. Beat the whites of the eggs until dry.
  2. Add the sugar gradually and continue the beating.
  3. Then add the yolks, beaten until they assume a lemon color.
  4. Now add the vanilla.
  5. Fold in the flour and salt.
  6. Shape with a pastry bag and drop on unbuttered sheets of paper.
  7. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and bake 8 minutes in a moderate oven.
