Original recipe card for My 'Best Salad'

Ingredients

  • 6 Apples
  • 1 Stalk of Celery
  • 1 Package of Seeded Raisins
  • 1 Yolk of 1 Egg
  • 1/3 cupful Sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoonful Salt
  • A dust Red Pepper
  • 1/3 teaspoonful Dry Mustard
  • 2 tablespoonfuls Olive Oil
  • 2 cupfuls Whipped Cream
  • Half Small Cabbage
  • 1 Small Can of Pineapple

Instructions

  1. Pare and core the apples and chop them with the celery and the cabbage.
  2. Clean the seeded raisins and add them.
  3. Beat the yolk of the egg with the sugar, add the salt, red pepper and mustard.
  4. Cook for a minute, then remove from the fire and add the olive oil.
  5. Add to the chopped ingredients with the whipped cream and the pineapple.
  6. Set on ice some time before serving.
  7. Serve on crisp white lettuce leaves.
  8. This salad will serve thirty persons.
