Original recipe card for Emergency Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon (heaping) Salt
  • To mix Cold Water

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt, add enough cold water to make a soft dough.
  2. Drop in spoonfuls in boiling gravy and cook 20 minutes.

Notes

These dumplings never get soggy, can be warmed over and are just as good as when freshly made. They are fine with chicken, beef, mutton or veal stew.
