Original recipe card for Oyster Stew

Ingredients

  • 1 quart Oysters
  • 1/2 pint Hot Cream
  • To season Salt and Pepper
  • 1 1/2 ounces Butter

Instructions

  1. Put the oysters on the fire in their own liquor.
  2. The moment they begin to boil, skim them out and add to the liquor, the hot cream, salt and pepper.
  3. Skim it well, take from the fire and add the butter.
  4. Serve immediately.
