Original recipe card for Custard Pie

Ingredients

  • Two Eggs
  • 3 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1/3 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 1/2 cups Milk
  • A little Grated Nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Beat eggs slightly, add sugar, salt and milk.
  2. Line pie plate with crust; make the edge high and thicker than in center.
  3. Strain in the mixture slowly, adding a few gratings of nutmeg.
  4. Bake in a quick oven at first till edge of paste is set, then decrease heat.
  5. Bake till custard is just set.
