Ingredients

  • 1 pound Chopped Beef Suet
  • 1 pound Chopped Apples
  • 1 pound Chopped Raisins
  • 1 pound Currants
  • 4 ounces Sliced Oranges
  • 4 ounces Sliced Citron Peel
  • 2 ounces Sliced Lemon Peel
  • 2 ounces Sliced Orange Peel
  • 1 Grated Nutmeg
  • 1/4 ounce Salt
  • 1/4 ounce Powdered Ginger
  • 1/4 ounce Powdered Allspice
  • 1/4 ounce Powdered Cloves
  • 2 Grated Rinds of Lemons
  • 2 Strained Juice of Lemons
  • 1/4 cupful Fruit Juice
  • 1/4 pound Cooked Chopped Beef or Tongue

Instructions

  1. Put all the ingredients into a large earthenware jar and mix well.
  2. Cover securely and stir up before using.
  3. The mincemeat should be made at least one month before it is required.
  4. The fruit should all be cleaned carefully.
