Original Recipe Card

Ingredients
- 2 pounds Cucumbers
- 1 quart Vinegar
- 1 ounce to 1 quart vinegar Sugar
- 1 ounce to 1 quart vinegar Cassia Buds
Instructions
- Pare and seed ripe cucumbers.
- Slice each cucumber lengthwise into 4 pieces, or cut into fancy shapes, as preferred.
- Let them stand 24 hours, covered with cold vinegar.
- Drain them; then put into fresh vinegar, with sugar and one ounce of cassia buds to each quart of vinegar.
- Boil 20 minutes.
- Cover closely in a jar.
