Original recipe card for Corned Beef and Cabbage

Ingredients

  • Corned Beef
  • Cold Water
  • One Cabbage
  • Drawn Butter

Instructions

  1. Select a piece not too salt.
  2. The brisket is a good cut for family use when not too fat.
  3. Cook in plenty of cold water.
  4. Bring slowly to a boil.
  5. Cook 18 minutes to the pound after it begins to simmer.
  6. When half done, put in the cabbage, quartered.
  7. When both are thoroughly done, put in a hot dish until ready to serve.
  8. Pour a little drawn butter over the cabbage.
