Ingredients
- 3 pounds Veal (Lean)
- 1/2 pound Salt Pork
- Two Eggs
- 3 cupfuls Buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon Soda
- To mix Flour
Instructions
- Cut the meat in pieces, put them in a pot with some small pieces of salt pork and plenty of pepper and salt, pour over them enough hot water to cover; let it boil until thoroughly done.
- Then, while the water is still boiling, drop in by the spoonful a batter made from the following ingredients: The eggs, well beaten, buttermilk, flour and soda enough to make a thick batter.
- Cover the pot and as soon as the batter is well cooked, serve it, as by standing it becomes heavy.
