Original Recipe Card

Ingredients
- 1 Fat Chicken
- 1 Cupful Rice
- 1/4 Lb. Ham
- 1 Qt. Boiling Water
- 1 Teaspoonful Salt
- 1 Saltspoonful Pepper
Instructions
- Place in a saucepan the chicken, which has been cut in pieces as for fricassee.
- Pour over it the boiling water and cook slowly for forty minutes.
- Then put in the well-washed rice, and add the chopped ham, salt and pepper.
- Cover, and cook slowly until the rice is thoroughly cooked.
- Place on a platter and serve at once.
