Original recipe card for Clam Chowder

Ingredients

  • 2 strings Soft Clams
  • 1 can Tomatoes
  • 1 slice Salt Pork
  • 5 large Potatoes
  • 3 large Onions
  • To season Salt and Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 quart Water

Instructions

  1. Chop the clams up fine.
  2. Cut the pork in small pieces and put in the bottom of the kettle, over the fire, until it is nicely browned.
  3. Cut the potatoes and onions into dice.
  4. Put the tomatoes in the kettle, also the onions, potatoes and clams.
  5. Season with salt and pepper and put in the butter, lastly add the water.
  6. Serve with pilot crackers.
