Original Recipe Card

Ingredients
- 1 Pint Water
- 1 Pint Sweet Milk
- 2 Ounces Sugar
- 1 Ounce Salt
- 2 Ounces Lard
- 1 1/2 Ounces Compressed Yeast
- 2 Pounds Seeded Raisins
- 4 Pounds Flour
Instructions
- Have both milk and water warm.
- Dissolve the yeast in the water.
- Mix the dough thoroughly, let it raise well, then punch it down and let it raise again.
- Mold in round loaves, and, when raised, bake in a hot oven of about 450 degrees.
- When potato yeast is used take one pint of yeast and one pint of milk or water.
