Original recipe card for Steamed Chocolate Pudding

Ingredients

  • 2 Squares of Chocolate
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 Cupful Sugar
  • 1 Cupful Milk
  • 2 Cupfuls Flour
  • 1 Tablespoonful Butter
  • 2 Teaspoonfuls Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoonful Vanilla Extract
  • Hard Sauce

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and sugar together, add the egg well beaten, the milk, flour, baking powder and vanilla extract, and the chocolate melted.
  2. Pour into a buttered mold, cover with buttered paper and steam steadily for two hours.
  3. Turn out, decorate with a star of whipped cream and serve with hard sauce.
