Original recipe card for Surprise Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Cupfuls Preserved Black Currants or Raspberries
  • 1 Cupful Chopped Suet
  • 1 Cupful Sweet Milk
  • 1 1/2 Cupfuls Flour
  • 2 Tablespoonfuls Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoonful Baking Soda
  • A Pinch Salt

Instructions

  1. Sift the flour, salt and soda into a basin, add the sugar, suet, milk and fruit; mix well.
  2. Pour into a buttered pudding-mold, cover with a buttered paper, and steam steadily for two hours.
  3. Serve with any sweet pudding sauce.
