Original recipe card for Persimmon Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1/2 gal Ripe persimmons
  • 1 qt Milk
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/4 cup Butter

Instructions

  1. Put persimmons through sieve with milk.
  2. Add sugar, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and vanilla.
  3. Add well-beaten eggs.
  4. Melt butter and rub pan with it, leaving a tablespoon of melted butter.
  5. Pour in batter.
  6. Bake in slow oven about an hour in pan of water.
