Original recipe card for Cabinet Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound Stale Sponge Cake
  • 1/2 cup Raisins
  • 1/2 can Peaches
  • Four Eggs
  • 1 1/2 pints Milk

Instructions

  1. Butter a round mould; lay in some stale cake, 1/3 of the raisins, stoned, 1/3 of the peaches; cover with very thin slice of bread.
  2. Pour over milk beaten with eggs and sugar.
  3. Set in saucepan with boiling water to reach 2/3 up sides of mould, steam it 3/4 hour.
  4. Turn out carefully on dish and serve with peach sauce.
