Original recipe card for Bread Custard

Ingredients

  • Four Eggs
  • 1 quart Milk
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 3 slices Bread

Instructions

  1. Beat the eggs well, add the milk and the sugar.
  2. Beat until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Pour into a baking tin and set the three slices of buttered bread on top, with the buttered side up.
  4. Bake in a moderate oven; when solid, set it away to cool.
