Original recipe card for Custard Filling

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 3 cups Milk
  • 3 tablespoons (heap) Cornstarch
  • five (yolks) Eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 teaspoons Extract Vanilla

Instructions

  1. Scald milk in double boiler, add cornstarch dissolved in a little cold water.
  2. Stir till smooth.
  3. Add sugar, cook 10 minutes.
  4. Add egg yolks, cook 4 minutes, take off and add vanilla.
