Ingredients
- 1/2 Pound Dried Figs
- 3 Tablespoonfuls Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 3/4 Pint Water
- 1/2 Cupful Chopped English Walnut Meats
- A Few Drops Lemon Juice
- Some Pastry
Instructions
- Line some tartlet tins with pastry.
- Cut the figs into small pieces and simmer them in the water for half an hour, then add one tablespoonful of the sugar.
- Remove from the fire and cool, then add the nut meats and the yolks of the eggs well beaten.
- Divide the mixture into the prepared tins and bake in a hot oven until ready.
- Make a meringue with the whites of the eggs, the remainder of the sugar and the lemon juice.
- Spread on the top of the tartlets and brown slightly.
