Original Recipe Card

Ingredients
- 2 cups bread crumbs
- 1 quart scalded milk
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
- Soak 2 cups bread crumbs in 1 quart scalded milk.
- Cook 1 cup brown sugar with 4 tablespoons butter until well browned.
- Add to cooled mixture.
- Add 2 eggs slightly beaten, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
- Pour in baking dish 1 inch deep.
