Ingredients

  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 1/3 cup Butter
  • 2/3 cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups Flour
  • 3 teaspoons Baking powder
  • Pinch Salt
  • 2/3 cup Water or milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla

Instructions

  1. Melt 1/4 cup butter and 1 cup brown sugar (don't pack).
  2. Place pineapple on top of sugar and butter.
  3. Cream 1/3 cup butter and 2/3 cup sugar.
  4. Separate 2 eggs and beat yolks, then fold yolks in butter and sugar mixture.
  5. Sift 1 1/2 cups flour.
  6. Add 3 teaspoons baking powder and a pinch of salt.
  7. Add 2/3 cup water or milk to the flour mixture.
  8. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
