Original Recipe Card
Ingredients
- 1 cup Brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Butter
- 1/3 cup Butter
- 2/3 cup Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 1/2 cups Flour
- 3 teaspoons Baking powder
- Pinch Salt
- 2/3 cup Water or milk
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
Instructions
- Melt 1/4 cup butter and 1 cup brown sugar (don't pack).
- Place pineapple on top of sugar and butter.
- Cream 1/3 cup butter and 2/3 cup sugar.
- Separate 2 eggs and beat yolks, then fold yolks in butter and sugar mixture.
- Sift 1 1/2 cups flour.
- Add 3 teaspoons baking powder and a pinch of salt.
- Add 2/3 cup water or milk to the flour mixture.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
