Original Recipe Card
Ingredients
- 1/2 cupful black coffee
- 1/2 cupful milk
- 2 teaspoonfuls baking powder
- 2 cupfuls flour
- 1 cupful currants
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cupful butter
- 1/2 cupful sugar
- 1 teaspoonful powdered cinnamon
Instructions
- Beat the butter and sugar to a cream, add the egg well beaten, the coffee, the milk, the flour sifted with the baking powder, and the currants well cleaned.
- Turn into a square, greased baking-pan and sprinkle the top of the cake thickly with sugar and cinnamon.
- Bake in a moderate oven for three-quarters of an hour.
