Original Recipe Card

Ingredients
- 1/4 c. Shortening
- 1/4 c. White sugar
- 1/4 c. Brown sugar
- 1 Egg
- 2 c. Flour (sifted before measuring)
- 1/4 tsp. Salt
- 4 tsp. Baking powder
- 1 c. Milk
- 1/2 c. Crushed pineapple (well drained)
Instructions
- Cream shortening, add sugars slowly.
- Blend in well beaten egg.
- Add flour with the baking powder mixed in it.
- Add milk alternately with the flour mixture.
- Add pineapple.
- Pour into greased and floured muffin pans.
- Fill each cup almost 2/3 full.
- Bake about 25 minutes in oven 400°.
Notes
Prunes or other fruit may be used instead of the pineapple.
