Original Recipe Card

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 1 cup Sugar
- 2 (well beaten) Eggs
- Salt
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 2 cups Flour
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add eggs and salt, then alternately milk and flour, in which is sifted powder.
- Bake in layer-cake tins and use when cold.
- Pick, hull, wash and drain berries.
- Sweeten, spread between layers of short cake, and serve with cream or a cold custard.
