Original recipe card for Holiday Cakes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound Butter
  • 1/2 pound Pulverized Sugar
  • six Eggs
  • 3/4 pound Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Almond Extract
  • 1 tablespoon Rose Extract

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter with the sugar; add the beaten yolks of the eggs, the flour and extracts.
  2. Make into a dough and shape with the hands into small balls.
  3. Press a blanched almond into the top of each cake and bake in a steady oven.
  4. They will flatten slightly, in the baking.
