Ingredients
- 1 Heaping Tablespoonful Butter
- 3/4 Cupful Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 Cupful Milk
- 1/4 Teaspoonful Salt
- 1/2 Teaspoonful Vanilla Extract
- 1 Cupful Flour
- 1 Teaspoonful Baking Powder
- 2 Squares Chocolate
- 1 Cupful Confectioner's Sugar
- 1 Heaping Tablespoonful Butter
- 1/2 Teaspoonful Vanilla Extract
- 2 Teaspoonfuls Cocoa
- 2 Tablespoonfuls Strong Coffee
Instructions
- First cream the butter and sugar together, then add the yolk of the egg, the milk, salt, vanilla, flour, baking powder and the chocolate melted.
- Mix well and add the beaten white of the egg.
- Divide into two buttered layer-tins and bake in a fairly hot oven.
- When cool fill and ice the layers with the filling.
- Beat up the confectioner's sugar with the butter, add the vanilla, cocoa and coffee.
