Original Recipe Card
Ingredients
- 1 cupful Chopped Dates
- 1/3 cupful Butter
- 1 cupful Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 cupful Milk
- 1 3/4 cupfuls Flour
- 2 teaspoonfuls Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoonful Powdered Ginger
- 1/4 teaspoonful Grated Nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoonful Powdered Cloves
- To taste Boiled Frosting
Instructions
- Beat the butter and sugar to a cream, add the eggs well beaten, the milk, flour, baking powder, spices and dates.
- Mix and divide into buttered-and-floured gem-pans and bake in a moderate oven for twenty-five minutes.
- When cold cover with the frosting and decorate with a stoned date.
